The Art of Driftwood by Buck Radcliffe

The Art of Driftwood by Buck Radcliffe brings found driftwood, handcrafted birds, and a deep connection to nature together in distinctive coastal artwork. Each piece begins with the search for unique driftwood forms and is shaped through a careful hands-on process that highlights the character of the natural material. Created with purpose and passion, Buck’s work reflects a personal journey of rediscovery and a desire to inspire others through nature’s art.
I was a boat builder by trade for over 30 years. After a life-changing event some years ago, I was forced into a new life. I spent hours walking the shores of the Pungo River when I discovered my new purpose. It was then, and is still now, my passion to create nature's art using found driftwood and my hand-crafted birds to inspire others. The process includes searching for the unique pieces of driftwood, pressure washing, sandblasting, sanding, staining, bleaching, and adding wood elements or my signature epoxy shore birds. It is my deepest hope that what I have created will bring joy and good feelings to your life.

Driftwood Art Inspired by Nature

Buck’s driftwood pieces celebrate the shapes, textures, and organic beauty found in nature. From carefully selected driftwood to hand-crafted birds and signature epoxy shore birds, each creation reflects his passion for transforming found materials into meaningful artwork.
Every piece is shaped through a detailed process that may include cleaning, sandblasting, sanding, staining, bleaching, and adding crafted elements. The result is driftwood art that honors the original material while giving it new life as a finished work.
